Luctonians 2nd XV currently compete in Regional 2 West (Level 6), having secured promotion at the end of the 2024/25 season. This achievement followed an impressive run of success, with the side winning the Counties 1 Midlands West North division in 2022/23 and Counties 1 Midlands West South division in both 2023/24 and 2024/25, before finally earning their long-awaited step up.

Our 2nd XV play a vital role in the club’s structure, providing a competitive environment that blends development and performance rugby. The squad offers talented young players the opportunity to bridge the gap between age-grade rugby and the demands of the National Leagues, while also giving experienced players valuable game time to maintain match sharpness.

The side entered the RFU league system for the first time in 2022/23, following their fifth triumph in the Midlands Reserve League Division 1 (2021/22). Since then, they have thrived in senior league competition, proving the strength of our player pathway and the depth of talent at Mortimer Park.

The 2nd XV are coached by Joff Bemand, Kieram Hallam, and Charlie Meredith, and train together with the 1st XV on Tuesdays and Thursdays, ensuring continuity in coaching standards, playing style, and club culture.

With a balance of ambition and player development, the Luctonians 2nd XV continue to push boundaries, producing players ready to wear the famous black and white hoops at National League level.
