Luctonians 1st XV currently compete in National 2 West, the fourth tier of English rugby union. It is a level of the game where the very best of community rugby meets the edges of the professional structure, and our 1st XV have established themselves as one of the most consistent clubs in the division.

Having first earned promotion to the National Leagues in 2010, the 1^st XV have played at this level for 15 of the past 16 seasons. That achievement has been achieved predominantly with a home-grown squad and reflects the strength of our player development pathway, the dedication of our coaching staff, and the commitment of a community that continues to support rugby in North Herefordshire at a remarkably high standard.

Home games are played at Mortimer Park, Kingsland, where loyal supporters create one of the most welcoming and passionate atmospheres in National League rugby. The famous black and white hoops have become a familiar sight across the division, and the 1st XV’s performances regularly showcase a blend of homegrown talent and players drawn from across the region.

Our proudest recent milestone came in the 2025/26 season, when the side recorded our highest-ever league finish of 2nd place in National League 2 West, narrowly missing out on promotion, after a playoff game against Birmingham Moseley. With a tradition of resilient defence, hard work and robust set-piece, Luctonians 1st XV continue to push standards higher, inspiring the next generation of players throughout the club.
