Now this Saturday is a rarity in this month of October, as it is the only time you get to see the 1st XV at home in a five week spell. Three road games and a rest week populate the rest of our Saturdays, so make the most of it and get yourselves down to Mortimer Park this Saturday to get behind the boys.
We welcome ‘The Choccos’, Bournville RFC, who have started this season in fine form with regards to scoring points, averaging over 35 points a game and having scored three more tries than our lads to this moment. However, they have conceded over sixty in four of their six games to date.
Our lads just need to get back to being ruthlessly efficient as they had been in the first five weeks of the season, so we must then bring the noise to ensure they respond correctly to last week’s setback. Your match day programme is available here.
Co-habiting the club Saturday will be our 3rds who enjoy their third home game in four to start this season, as they welcome Leek 2nds to Lucs. Having beaten the same opposition home and away last season, this is a golden opportunity for the lads to take advantage of a kind fixture list to start the year.
Our 2nd XV embark on their third trip in four games, as they visit the Cotswolds and Stow-on-the-Wold. Last season honours were even between our two sides, as the 2s went down at Stow 31-21 in February, having beaten them 31-10 at home earlier in the season and this will be a great test of character for this young group, to see if they can respond at a tough venue.
