To clarify how the RFU’s announcement impacts Luctonians
rugby activity over the next month or so, please see the below summary. The
impact is on competitive fixtures originally scheduled before 21st
September, at all levels below our 1st XV:
- Our 1st XV
National League fixtures will continue as scheduled with no change to
fixtures in National Leagues or above
- Pre-season fixtures have
been impacted for some senior sides including this coming weekend – we
will make announcements as soon as these are adjusted and confirmed
- Our 2nd XV, 3rd
XV and Colts sides will all start their league fixtures two weeks after
originally planned, these will start on the weekend of 26th/27th
September
- Our Vixens will now play
their National Junior Cup 1st Round fixture on Sunday 4th
October
- Our mini and junior
sides will continue with training as planned, with coaches putting in
place provisions around safe sessions depending on which pitch they are
using (watered v un-watered), as they were already doing so
- Our mini and junior
sides do not have competitive fixtures before the RFU’s date, so there is
currently no impact, and any friendlies scheduled before 21st
September will be assessed case-by-case based upon availability of a
suitably safe pitch closer to the time
