Raising Funds For Good Causes
The aim of the Charity Group is to select the charities that Luctonians will support each year and to organise fund raising events.
Our chosen charities for the 2022/23 season are
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulance helicopters and two critical care cars serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. The charity also provides secondary cover to surrounding areas, such as Warwickshire and Mid Wales.
Not many people know that Luctonians Sports Club is, in part, a Registered Charity. This supports the Club in its provision of community engagement, both sporting and social.
Our chosen charities for this season’s ‘Lucs in Purple’ Charity Matchday on 24th September are
Little Princess Trust provide real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other conditions. They are driven by a desire to improve the lives of children and young people with cancer and to make their service available to all children and young people who need it. They use their ever-growing knowledge and experience to provide the best service possible and fund the worthiest research. Click on the logo above to learn more.
#BeMoreFrank raises funds in Frank’s name. These go solely and exclusively to providing financial assistance to families with a child diagnosed with cancer in Powys, Monmouthshire & Herefordshire. Click on the logo above to learn more about Frank, and why this new local charity is so important.

During this season we raised £14,435.77 for Prostate Cancer UK
on the ‘Lucs in Blue’ matchday
Included in the total amount was money raised from the 3rdXV Jurassic Challenge for St Michael’s Hospice – Hereford, Movember UK and The British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
PREVIOUS SEASONS
Due to the pandemic, the entire 2020/21 season was cancelled.
However, we did raise some funds to help support the club through lockdown.
2019/20
The chosen charities for the 2019/20 season were
Pilgrim Bandits, Prostate Cancer and The Cart Shed
and
we raised £7,293.00 for Breast Cancer Haven Hereford
on the ‘Lucs in Pink’ matchday
Clearly this season was drastically shortened by the pandemic, but the total raised was still
2018/19
The chosen charities for the 2019/20 season were
Macmillan Cancer Support in the West Midlands, Phoenix Bereavement Support and Prostate Cancer UK
and
we raised £10,574.76 for Breast Cancer Haven Hereford
on the ‘Lucs in Pink’ matchday
