Luctonians Sports Club is looking to recruit the part-time role of an Accounts Administrator into our Operations Team.

The role is an essential one within our small professional team, looking after financial administration and membership coordination tasks, to facilitate the club’s ongoing daily activities and services provided to members.

Based in our offices at Mortimer Park, Kingsland, the role would suit someone with a bookkeeping or accountancy background, with flexible working hours available across the week to fulfil the tasks required.

The main tasks for the role will be:

      • Effectively record, allocate and reconcile the movements of money into and out of the club accounts, ensuring accurate records of transactions are kept up to date on SAGE Accounting Software.

      • Provide regular reports of Creditors and Debtors to Operations Team.

      • Provide accurate remittance paperwork for all supplier invoice payments and reconcile to supplier statements where appropriate.

      • Ensure all relevant documentation is gathered pertaining to club monies spent (i.e. receipts, petty cash slips, online purchase orders, etc.)

      • Check, balance and record weekly takings.

      • Manage, coordinate and update the Membership database for the Club. Ensuring membership payments received are reconciled against required members and membership cards and packs are sent out accordingly.

      • Maintain and manage floats as required by commercial departments.

      • Safely transport monies to the bank and pay in cash and cheques.

      • Pay weekly and monthly staff.

      • Maintain the personnel folders within Payroll.
      • Manage club section budgets and accounts, ensuring each section is provided with up-to-date information on financial position.

    Essential Personal Qualities

        • Previous experience of bookkeeping or accounting would be beneficial and if not possessed then certainly a comfort of working with numbers and spreadsheets is essential.

        • Self-starter that is motivated to work by themselves without prompting and uses own initiative.

        • Very high attention to detail is required.

        • Exceptional communicator on various levels, be that written, face-to-face or over phone.

      Role Demands

          • The role is a permanent position.

          • The role is part-time (24 hours a week), based at Mortimer Park, that can be flexible in terms of days worked. This role will include very occasional elements of weekend or evening work as required.
